2026: Cancer Survivors Day Walk

On 7th June 2026, the Kenya Network of Cancer Organizations (KENCO) hosted a Cancer Survivors Walk at the Kenyatta National Hospital Grounds, bringing together survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and advocates to celebrate resilience while raising awareness about cancer.

The event highlighted the importance of early screening and timely diagnosis, with a special focus on rare cancers, including Neuro-endocrine Tumours. Patricia Karani shared her inspiring journey to receiving a NET diagnosis, emphasizing the challenges of living with a rare cancer and the hope that comes through accurate diagnosis, treatment, and support.

The symbolic 10 kilometre walk reflected the courage, resilience, and determination of cancer patients throughout their survivorship journey. The event reinforced a powerful message that, despite the challenges of cancer, survivorship is possible, and that continued awareness, education, and advocacy are essential to improving outcomes for all those affected by cancer.
